These turnips are amazing; they possess an incredible will to survive. Somehow in my gardening misadventures I had forgotten entirely about my flat of turnips, and they were left outdoors for several weeks. When I finally rediscovered the flat, it was full of weeds choking out the little turnips, most of which had caterpillar-eaten greens...but I transplanted the little guys, not holding out much hope for them, into the garden bed. Wow---they came back with a vengeance. A few weeks later, I pulled a few young ones which were delicious even raw and grew most of them to rather impressive sizes. Given their terrible early lives in the seed flat, and their transplanting to a heavy clay bed, these were incredibly successful and productive. I will definitely continue to grow this variety in future years.
