Very high-quality selection

with outstanding flavor, texture, and storage ability.

Dependable and forgiving of poor conditions.

Can be sown late in the season (August) and left in the ground to produce "Winter Greens". The 3-4" roots are deep golden yellow, with a fine flavor, good raw, mashed or creamed.

If you think you don't like turnips, try these.

BOTANICAL NAME: Brassica rapa

Plant seed directly, or start in flats and transplant carefully 4" apart in deeply dug, rock free soil that is loose and well-composted. This variety can be sown late in the season and left in the ground to produce "winter greens" in mild winter areas. Water and weed seedlings until established, then requires little care. The flavor is improved by frost. Root is good for winter storage.

Planted in September here in NC, and had delicious greens all winter long. Now they are bulbing up beautifully. Pulled a few young 2 inch roots to eat raw, they were the best turnips I have ever had, both my 5 and 6 year old children even loved them. This will hold a regular place in our garden.
