BOTANICAL NAME: Brassica rapa
Plant seed directly, or start in flats and transplant carefully 4" apart in deeply dug, rock free soil that is loose and well-composted. This variety can be sown late in the season and left in the ground to produce "winter greens" in mild winter areas. Water and weed seedlings until established, then requires little care. The flavor is improved by frost. Root is good for winter storage.
