Tall, single, large flowered
for early planting with giant heads full of large seeds.
Very showy. Fairly heavy feeder. Likes an alkaline soil and moisture. Plant in late spring. Appreciates some mulch over the summer. The classic single-stemmed big yellow sunflower.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS :Start is flats & transplant into any good, non-acid, well-drained garden soil, or direct-sow after frost. Likes a rich, loose, non-acid soil; be sure to dig in compost and lime if needed. Space 24" apart if growing for seed, or 9" apart when gorwing for compost. Mulch helps to conserve moisture and keep soil loose. As heads mature, stalks may need staking to protect from wind.
