First dwarf snap pea
with Sugar Snap quality, and then some.
Extra-plump, very crisp, very sweet and flavorful pods.
Resistant to PM and the first pea with resistance to PEMV. Heat-resistant-went to the end of June for us. Vines 2-5' tall.
BOTANICAL NAME: Pisum sativum
Soak seeds before planting: Cascadia has a thick seed coat to protect it-germination can be slow. Best to plant in succession. Peas are hardy but cannot take heat, so plant as early as the soil can be worked. Plant 4" apart into non-acid, well-drained soil. Plant ½" deep and keep the soil cool and moist. Assure adequate calcium, phosphorous, and potash. Inoculant increases yield. Pick all ripe peas so more will form.
