BOTANICAL NAME: Allium cepa
Start seeds in flats in succession from late autumn through very early summer. Transplant 4" apart in succession from late winter through summer. Matures in 8-9 weeks as a salad onion and in 14-17 weeks as a bulbing onion. Likes loam, adequate in potassium and phosphorous, but not too much nitrogen. Keep sprouts weeded. Soil must be kept moist.
