BOTANICAL NAME: Allium cepa
Start in flats 6-8 weeks before planting out. Transplant 3" apart when seedlings are about the thickness of ordinary pencil lead. Will grow best in a fairly rich, light loan adequate in potassium, phosphorous, but not too much nitrogen. Does not flourish in clay. Soil must be kept moist. Keep sprouts weeded. Get an early start in the season for the best formation. Ready for harvest in about 8 weeks from transplanting. Coating around seeds is organic. They are NOT treated.
