GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Start seeds in flats or pots. Transplant seedlings into sunny place on 12" centers after all chance of frost is past. Keep picking leaves from time plants are 1' tall-best flavor when plants are 18" or under. Good idea to succession-sow. Likes hot weather and does well in saline soil. Grows 2 feet tall, up to 4' in good soil. If some plants are allowed to form tall flower stalks, they provide pollen to attract the tiny flies that eat aphids in the fall.
