Tatsoi Asian Greens, ...
Used in almost all salad mixes,
as the mild little center leaves are out where you can get at them,
rather than hidden inside the bunch. Flat, deep green rosette 12-18". Probably the most cold-hardy Asian green. Easy to care for and dependable.
BOTANICAL NAME: Brassica rapa var. rosularis
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Start directly into the garden bed for a fall crop. Very cold-hardy; for zones 6 and above, a cold frame or row cover will extend the season. It is possible to grow in the spring, if you get a very early start-arrange for some shade as the weather gets hot. Plant on 10" centers into well-worked, well-fertilized soil-a heavy feeder. Rotate crops to minimize disease/insect problems. Cut outer leaves for salad or stir-fry. Or harvest whole when heads feel solid, before leaves yellow.
