Or cut when 3-4" for salad mix (28 days).
Excellent first-early salad crop sown in spring as soon as the soil can be worked; cold resistant standby for fall/winter salads; sown in August.

BOTANICAL NAME: Brassica juncea
Start seedlings in flats in early spring or late summer for a fall crop. Transplant seedlings 10" apart into well-worked, well-fertilized soil-all brassicas are heavy feeders. Rotate where you plant these to minimize bug/disease damage. Slow to bolt in hot weather, but prey to flea beetles in summer, and at its best in cooler weather. Clip outside leaves when they reach 3-5" for continuous harvest for salad or stir-fry, or cut whole heads for cooking before leaves yellow.
