with beautiful purple and white stripes and mild flavor.
Drought-resistant, loves heat. Plump 5" fruit.
BOTANICAL NAME: Solanum melongena
Likes hot weather. Start in flats or pots 8 weeks before night temps will be above 50F. Best yield in light, rich, well-drained soil but is not a demanding crop. Does need to be kept moist. May need night cover in cool areas. Prefers 80-90F, and days and night about 70F. Don't plant after other nightshades such as tomatoes and potatoes to avoid wilt. Pick promptly while still glossy; plant will make more.
