From 1880, high-yielding,

bears continually if picked.

Good for canning size, up to 6"x2". Popular old reliable pickler.

BOTANICAL NAME: Cucumis sativus

Dislikes cold soil. Sow in flats 2-3 weeks before setting out. Set-out or direct seed 3-4 weeks after last frost, when soil is warm. Prefers light soil with well-rotted manure or compost worked in. Needs ample food and water. Mulch or cultivate until vines form. Grown on fence or trellis to save space. Cucumbers like a sunny spot but appreciate some shade in the hottest part of the day.
