An early variety that copes with adverse weather. Does well in most soils, best in deep, rich soils. Good drainage and full sun important. Sow seed 2 weeks after average date of last frost. Plant directly into garden 15" apart. Plant in blocks of at least 5' on a side for good pollination. If possible, hill up the earth around the base of the stalks to let the basal roots anchor them well. Greedy feeder so fertilize well. Don't plant same place every year.
