BOTANICAL NAME: Apium graveolens
Sow seeds in flats in the early Spring, 4-6 weeks before the last frost, and cover lightly with soil. Transplant into the garden 6" apart in late spring, when the weather is settled. Prefers a long, cool growing season. Temperatures below 55F will cause young plants to bolt, but mature plants can withstand frost. Hot weather will result in tough stalks.
