Germinates unusually well in cold wet soil. Disease resistant. Bean beetles avoid them.Easy for freezing--blanch until green, then freeze. Sprouts well in cold soil, easy to pick. Bush bean--eaten as a green or dry bean.
BOTANICAL NAME: Phaseolus vulgaris
A purple-podded bush variety; won't need stakes. Pods turn dark green when cooked. Start in flats/pots or seed direct in sunny location after soil reaches at least 60F. Using Garden Combo inoculant produces nitrogen in the soil and can increase yields. Plant 1" deep and 6" apart in well-dug soil, not too acid. Sow every 2-3 weeks through mid-summer for continuous supply.
