BOTANICAL NAME Hippophae rhamnoides
Seeds need 3 months of cold stratification for proper germination. Grow in greenhouse for at least their first winter, then plant into their permanent position. Suitable for all soil types as long as it has good drainage. Prefers full sun and is frost-hardy. Nitrogen fixer. Dislikes root disturbance and heavy pruning. Cutting of half-ripe wood can be taken at node. Mature wood cutting can happen during the planting year at 7-12 cm tall.
