Plant by broadcasting spring through fall.
Chickens love to be thrown heads of lettuce for their daily greens, and the more bugs, the better.
Or let it go to seed for wild birds.
May be raised in flats and transplanted or broadcast into one or more enclosures for grazing. If broadcast, mix this packet with a quart of soil and scatter evenly over 100 square feet of weed-free, dug, and raked-out soil. Prepare soil as for any vegetable garden crop, with compost or manure and lime if needed. Rake lightly or scatter soil to cover, and water in. Keep moist until emergence. May be harvested for feeding or grazed-will regrow if small center leaves remain intact.
