Plant in very early spring, or stratify by placing in damp soil and refrigerating for 2 weeks. Takes 2-4 weeks to germinate and needs dark for germination. Thrives in any good, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Resistant to both drought and cool damp climates. Aerial parts are medicinal-harvest in summer when plant is in flower.
