Extremely easy to grow, tolerant of difficult conditions, and beautiful in the garden with huge silvery leaves and masses of yellow tubular flowers that just never stop blooming.
BOTANICAL NAME: Nicotiana rustica
Sow in flats in well-drained mix. Mix seed with ½ cup of sand, peat, or potting mix. Prepare a flat or pots with soil, completely moist but not sopping. Tamp soil and sprinkle with the seed/soil mixture. Keep moist but not wet until germination. When plants are 3" high, transplant to a moist shady spot. Will need water and dappled shade for best growth and flowering. This variety has 9% nicotine content, while regular tobacco has 1-3%.
