Sow seeds indoors in the spring 6-8 weeks before last frost, or anytime if you live in a frost-free climate. Transplant into the garden once air and soil temperatures are 70 or above. Needs rich, moist soil, plenty of water, hot weather. Pinch growing tips for bushiness; harvest leaves when flowers start blooming. Cuttings are an easy way to increase stock. Shade is okay as long as it gets heat.
