This ancient perennial herb has had many uses,
from flavoring candy to curing coughs and colds.
Used for asthma. Fuzzy grey-green leaves with white woolly undersides, sending up flowerstalks with clusters of lavender flowers along the stalk, grows to 3'.
Deep roots find their own water and hold soil in the process. An easy-care solution for problem areas, and you can make your own teas and cough drops!
BOTANICAL NAME: Marrubium vulgare
Start seeds in flats and transplant 9' apart into a warm, sunny area of the garden. It will tolerate poor soil and needs little water once established. This is a perennial plant that will grow to a height of 2'. It should be divided every 2-3 years. When harvesting, cut all growth to 3" above the ground and the plants will remain productive for several years.
