Seedlings may not transplant well. You may wish to sow seeds in a pot or transplant 6" apart, when they are about 3" high. Keep well watered. A delicate annual which requires a warm, sunny location in well composted soil. The plants will die back at the first frost. Grows to a height of 1-2'. You can begin to harvest the leaves when plants are 4-6" high. Best leaf quality if flowering stalks are cut off as they appear. Flowers are edible and decorative.
