Culinary Flax, Organic
Seeds used in breads and cereals,
as vegan egg substitute in recipes, and sprouted.
Wonderful in baked goods. Can be pressed for its omega-3 rich oil or for livestock and poultry feed.
BOTANICAL NAME : Linum usitatissimum
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Plant early in the season in any good garden soil that is well drained. A thick stand will discourage branching and give better fiber. Wider spacing will give more flowers and seeds. May be broadcast carefully into well-prepared soil and lightly raked in. It is often easier to broadcast seeds evenly if it is mixed with a quantity of sand, soil, or compost. Harvest seeds when pods are dry.
