Camelina has been grown

since ancient times as an oilseed crop.

It is a short season annual that grows 1-3 ft tall, with branching woody stems.

Often grown as a very low-input crop, it can withstand water shortages in its early stages.

The tiny orange seeds have a 40% oil content. Outstanding homestead and garden oil source.

This large packet will cover 1000 sq ft. We are pleased to have a bulk amount in response to your requests.

BOTANICAL NAME: Camelina sativa

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:

Plant in very early spring, or fall in mild climates. Prepare a weed-free bed, and rake to a fine tilth. Mix the seed with 2 quarts of sand, soil or potting mix and sow carefully - firm the seeds in but do not cover to protect from birds. Keep moist until germination. May also be sown in flats and transplanted out when it has 4 true leaves. It needs very little fertilizer or water - monitor for continued growth and feed. Harvest when seeds are hard.
