BOTANICAL NAME : Hordeum vulgare
Start in flat 10 days before last in very late summer. Transplant in garden 5" apart when 2-3" high. Prefers a dry soil that isn't too acidic. Likes some phosphorous and potassium but keep the nitrogen modest. Water moderately; cease watering when 85% of seedheads are golden; harvest when nearly all are. Dry fully before storing.
